Explanation of Quinella Betting
A Quinella, is when you select two runners to place First and Second in any order. There are numerous ways of doing this and each will cost you a different amount. To find the potential payout of a quinella just multiply the win price of one selection by the place price of the other and that will give you a rough idea of what the quinella should pay.
A Box Quinella allows you to choose more than two selections but will cost your more.
When placing a Standout Quinella, you can choose as many runners as you like just like a boxed quinella, however you nominate one runner you think will definately place First or Second in combination with your other selections for the quinella to win.
These bets normally pay very well and they are my favorite bet type. I'll go into more detail about how to choose quinellas in a latter video but for starters, try betting quinellas on races with only 8 runners and boxing 4 of them to come first or second. This will cost you $6 for every dollar you bet. Normally if the 2 favourites come first or second... the quinella will pay more than $6 to 1! let's keep betting easy!
