We all saw what Herculian Prince did in the wet last run and it was amazing. The odds do not reflect the horses chances in this though and 7-1 is way under. There is no way he can repeat the dose! Shocking looks to have avoided the winner of the Melbourne Cup , So You Think, who will also most likely win the Cox Plate, and it seems the owners are thinking the Caulfield Cup is a nice prize anyway. At betting odds of 5-1 he is a great chance to win if he can get through the field at the right time. The winner is obvious isn’t it? Monaco Consul at odds of 21-1. Take the horse each way, to win, quinellas, upside down, inside out, what ever bet you can lay your hands on! A super Cup this year and it should be a lot of fun for punters. I expect the first four might pay very large dividends.
What a fantastic betting proposition. Hot Danish is favorite and deserves the bulk of punters money. Currently 3-1 is over the odds and you should bet accordingly. We see the danger from Live in Sin and Montana Flyer who are both over 8-1 and betting odds of that size can’t be ignored. Neither has done much wrong and step up to try and turn Hot Danish into a wet and cold Dansih! It will be close and if you can back all three horses and come out in front then go for it. Certainly a great horse race to follow the Caulfield Cup.

So for a horse race and betting odds that will make your eyes water (or is that the rain?) take Set for Fame at odds of 4-1 and Eagle Falls (because that’s what they do when it’s raining) at odds of 7-1 for any betting sprint to the bookies, before the field take their time as quick as they can for the Caulfield Sprint!
Don’t fall for it! The group 2 Herbert Power Stakes is traditionally a good indication in the horse race betting world of what to bet at longer odds in the Caufield Cup. This horse race normally throws the cup into big betting adjustments. Moudre is trying to win at short betting odds to get a start in the Caufield Cup, and betting on Precedence at 3-1 here will be a waste of money. Just back it at the current odds of 15-1 in the cup. The interesting betting points towards Apprehend and Doctor Freemantle, with Apprehend at 100-1 for a Caufield Cup win, and the horse most likely won’t get a start, so this is the grand final for this horse at 11-1? WOW, the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington is a seriously hot race this year with numerous winning chances and champions in their own right. Betting will be fantastic and if ever you wanted to try betting “in running” for the first time, then this is the race to do it in. Shocking is the Flemington specialist, might win but but he only at odds of 5-1. Moudre, if he can get a run, should run close to favourite and if the scratchings appear, can win the race to be sure of starting in the Caufield Cup. Its ‘D-Day’ for Shoot Out. The Big Flemington track should suit and he gets his chance to stand up as a genuine Cox Plate contender. Unlike most punters we think Typhoon Tracy will stand up and show she can run a strong 2000 meters, so back her in the Cox Plate before this run for the extra big odds on betting available!
Caufield Cup Odds & Selections. The cup is not far off and with second favorite Shoot Out in such fine form it is a case of waiting to find a chink his armor before dismissing the horse.
Early favorite Faint Perfume was supposed to have her first run back last week, but was scratched by the miestro Bart Cummings and maybe behind now in fitness terms. The other early selection to keep an eye on is Zabrasive.
