SportBets.com.au is owned and founded by Marc Phillips who was born and grew up in Melbourne watching the Melbourne Cup and playing Aussie rules footy.

His interest in sports betting started winning $5.50 in the Grade 2 Melbourne Cup Sweep when Gold and Black won the 1977 Melbourne Cup, won big with his friends on track in the 1991 Melbourne Cup when Let’s Elope flew home and finally won a trifecta in 1998 when Craig Munce rode Jezabeel to victory in the Melbourne Cup (a fluke really as his brother sent him the box trifecta). He now enjoys watching AFL (his favourite AFL video is a must see of Sav Rocca, the AFL star), plays a regular game of golf, tennis, watching the Sydney Roosters and never misses a game of Rugby Union when the Wallabies are playing.
